Quincy Wilson turned down an opportunity to compete internationally with Team USA at the World Athletics Indoor Championships, -the reason given is to focus on school - however I can surmise the real reason is because he can’t compete- on the world stage- not yet-he’s not ready- and he’s now being criticized for pulling back-

The whoas of being marketed as a superstar so young too soon - the pressure is real

Hmmmm

The “marketing” teams reason for his decision, which in my view  is given to mask the truth of his unreadiness

And

It feels like the marketing of him is usury- a scheme of sorts - because he didn’t actually even win a gold medal - it was given to him by default- he never ran in the Olympic finals, he ran in the semi-finals and nearly caused a loss because he wasn’t fast enough - (competing against grown men) the USA struggled to get back and place

It's my thoughts that this young man is being used for $ by everyone responsible for his marketing campaign - the marketing has to come up with good reasons that he's not able to compete -

There’s so many angles to this situation….

- and Quincy isn’t actually that great - not yet- he can certainly be that and we hope that he will but he needs lots more training - and be consistent at it- that’s what he needs and people want for him - sigh

And because of all the marketing and hype he will be subjected to ridicule- that’s part of the game - so much mental stress at such a young age - it's never turned out good it seems for anyone - more sighs

I hope he doesn’t crash and burn mentally from the stress of appearing “great” before he’s even 20

On a much broader scope though - Quincy, it doesn't seem is ready to compete consistently on the world stage and the decision to pull back is good

Quincy's times of running are not faster than the world stage competition of his age group - as they are called "The Jamaicans" are the runners to beat on the world stage - ....he has yet to match up one on one to "The Jamaicans" - but - we will see though and maybe as he continues to grow and train - he will be the one to beat....."The Jamaicans"

My thoughts are that him sitting out is good - I hope Quincy is able to take some time off to have a private life, continue to train, focus and get better - then let the 💥shine

Signed
